Subtle Updates to the 2025 Lineup

The new 2025 KTM group dirtbikes (which includes KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas motorcycles) have a few small changes to the lineup in 2025.

  • Swingarm: While the KTM group has mentioned the swingarm is different, it is an extremely minimal change on the chain side. This change is aimed at minimizing the wear on the chain sliders in the front of the chain side.
  • Frame Rigidity: The 2024's had some rider feedback that the frames were more rigid than they should be. The 2025 XC/TX/EX models did receive a change to the shock area in the form of a small cutout. This was intended to make the frame less rigid. Some folks have been doing the "motor mount mod" in order to achieve a similar affect. In this mode you remove one the two front headstay bolts on either side.

That's about it... Really light updates for this year. In 2024 they made a HUGE amount of updates, with a 98% new motorcycle by KTM's count. I currently own a 2024 300 XCW and it has been performing great. The suspension is one of the best parts of the bike, they really hit it out of the park.

Why Protecting Your Swingarm is More Important Than Ever

The swingarm is one of the most exposed and vulnerable parts of your dirt bike. It can easily fall prey to scratches, dents, and impacts from rocks and debris, especially in gnarly terrain. The KTM Group has been eliminating weight in the bikes over the years, and one place it has come from is the thickness of the swingarms. These new thinner swingarms have some chance for catastrophic damage by huge dents or tearing open. By investing in high-quality swingarm guards, you can:

  • Shield your swingarm from impacts, reducing wear and tear.
  • Preserve the lifespan of one of your bike's most crucial components.
  • Enhance resale value by keeping your bike looking fresh and minimizing damage.
  • Prevent stress concentrations that could lead to swingarm breakage.
